Footwork Jungle mix madness

Its all Ive been listening to lately, and there’s a lot of cats doin it up right. These are some of the recent finds Ive been diggin on from some lesser knowns and some bigger names. Its been interesting to watch this mash-up sub-genre grow from a handfull of djs playing the two styles together on occasion a few years back, to the real turning point of the genre (in my opinion), the Phillip D Kick experiment (link), to its current state which finds new jacks and old heads like R.A.W. (aka 6Blocc (aka Skanx)) taking a turn at both producing their take on it, and creating mixes like these that blend the two beautifully. Enjoy!

Starting off with a pair from “Buffalo’s Abstract Turntablist” Mark Kloud

Don’t know much about Beardus, but this mix is bangin and it comes via the Footwork Jungle blog over on tumblr (http://footwork-jungle.tumblr.com) which is an excellent source for tracks and mixes like this…

Another DJ that I dont know too much about other than that he threw down a dope Footwork Jungle mix, DJ Phelo))) comes at us out of Ireland… heres to hoping for side B soon.

Now a bit of indulgence, I just dropped a new mix which you all have probably seen by now but check it -

Last one is not footwork jungle, but an excellent “vintage” jungle mix from J:Kenzo more known for quality deep dubstep, this is a nice turn showing his roots…

Ep 10 – Hashtag Mollygrit: Beautiful Internet Utopia

In this episode we discuss mollygrit and genres, tagging on soundcloud and beyond, bad interviews, april fools, last.fm aggregators, the dj fadchasing trap, the fate of the album, fake bacon flava and of course, whats hot in the streets.
